Hello - and a warm welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Timespun Threads!
I've got it #covered ... with this T-shirt of my own design, featuring a toilet roll doll - that staple of old-fashioned kitsch - presented in contemporary urban style.

To begin, a little about myself. I was born in 1980 in Cornwall, UK, where - excepting a few years spent mainly in York as a History student and on archive work experience placements - I have lived ever since.
At various points in my own history, I have been a keen amateur artist on my own terms. In my later schooldays, I spent hours in a self-made fantasy world drawing buildings and humanoid houseflies - goodness knows why! - in pencil (I was never comfortable with watercolours or oils). A few years later, having shifted to black ballpoint as my preferred medium, I drew several cartoons for the now-defunct University of York student magazine Christis. Since then, my artistic talent, such as it is, has lain largely dormant whilst I have spent the past decade or so as an antiques / collectables / vintage dealer running my own online shop.
Having largely lost interest in buying and selling antiques for a living - but not my love for the antiques themselves - I now return to my old passion for creative art. This time, however, instead of drawing merely for my own delectation, I will be producing graphic designs for T-shirts, mugs, phone cases, framed prints and so forth, and offering them for sale through print-on-demand outlets. There is another significant difference between my old-time efforts and my current ones. Back in my mid-teens, I had a young fogey's disdain for computers, and was far from proficient in their use; now, having mellowed with the passage of years, and become accustomed to modern technology, I will be making full use of programs such as Inkscape in my creations.
Why the name "Timespun Threads" (or "TimespunThreads" as one word - with or without capitals - as it must sometimes appear)? Well, "Timespun" expresses a key concept of mine: the blending and mixing of elements of old and new. For instance, I may present an article commonly perceived as old-fashioned in a cool, contemporary way, or - conversely - I might re-imagine something very "now" as, say, the Victorians might have had it look. However, "Timespun" can be read not only as "time-spun", but also as "times-pun", which is very fitting too, as puns - in company with vintage illustrations, perhaps - are likely to form a large proportion of my stock-in-trade. That said, just as the world of Timespun Threads welcomes all comers, I myself will be open to other sources of inspiration, and will most probably come up with some ideas - and designs - which do not exactly fit the era-mixing theme. (Some of these will doubtless be musical in nature: another great interest of mine is church music, especially pipe organs and hymn tunes.) Meanwhile, the "Threads" part stems from the fact that my initial idea was to design mainly for clothing; my remit now is wider, but "Timespun Threads" still sounds good!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my website and my designs - which you can now order on a wide range of products through Redbubble, Teepublic and thortful - and I invite you to follow me on any or all of my social media channels (links below).
Yours truly,
